Armed bandits have invaded Nuhu Bamali Polytechnic Zaria, in Kaduna state northwest Nigeria.
The bandits kidnapped an unspecified number of students and lecturers in the school.
The bandits who invaded the school at around 10:30 pm on Thursday night killed one student named Ahmed Abdulhamid while Ishaku Haruna Sustained gunshot injuries.
The suspected kidnappers kidnapped two lecturers named Habila Nasai of the General Studies department and Mal Adamu Shika of the Accounting department.
Daily Episode gathered that the wife of another lecturer, Hajara Ahmed Abdu, and her two children was kidnapped but later released after the bandits discovered she’s eight months pregnant.
An eye witness Mrs. Binta Felix told Daily Episode, how she saw the bandits shooting the slain students when he was crying for help. The bandits came in numbered shooting sporadically to scare everyone she said.
Recall that, the Kaduna state governments have increased school fees in schools across the state amidst security challenges.
Many students fled the school to their various houses in fear of kidnapping.
Situations in the schools show poor security coverage while neighboring communities pass through the schools amidst the kidnapping of students in Kaduna state.
There has been an attack in schools across northwest Nigeria for quite a long time since that of Kankara happened.
