Kaduna, Northwest Nigeria: Whenever people answer the call of nature, their graves become a resting place But the story of Hayin Biliya cemetery in the Rigasa community of Igabi local government area of Kaduna state is quite deplorable.

Due to landslides and lack of drainage, many graves were destroyed while flooding has washed away the remains of over a hundred people.

Failure to take decisive action could lead to serious damage as criminals’ specials in stealing human parts at cemeteries may likely use the advantage.

Rising erosion and flooding are putting the cemetery at risk due to climate change and poor management.

Daily Episode observed Poor drainage in the community forces wastewater and sewage to pass through the cemetery, before heading to the disposal points.

While interviewing Malam Ibrahim Abdullahi, a senior gravedigger in the cemetery who faulted the commuters, families of the deceased, and the government.

However, Ibrahim lamented the poor condition of the cemetery and Call the attention of the public and the government to provide a lasting solution.
